!! NOTICE !!

DUE TO THE PASSING OF ZAPP FOUNDER STEVEN FORMAN, ZAPP IS NO LONGER ACTIVE.

Please continue to support the animals. In San Felipe, "Volunteers for Indigent and Vulnerable Animals" or VIVA has been formed to fill the void left by Steven's passing. It's a collaboration of volunteers from the two former animal care groups, ZAPP and San Felipe Animal Rescue.

For more information on VIVA visit their website.

ZAPP is an acronym for the "Zero Additional "PUP-ulation Project". ZAPP was founded by Steven Forman in 2006. We are a no-kill organization operating in San Felipe, Baja, California. ZAPP is committed to spaying and neutering up to 200 animals a month, so we can finally achieve zero additional population growth and stop city wide roundups forever, which end in euthanasia of our innocent stray and indigent street population. Through our "SHOES FOR SPAYS" Project we take donations of gently worn to brand new men's or women's shoes and turn them into money for sterilization surgeries, using our shoe store on eBAY. The link for the store can be found on the right side of this page, by scrolling down.
The ZAPP Spay/Neuter Project deals with the most immediate problem at hand, which like all cities and towns in Mexico, is fertility. Please send your resell-able shoes to: "SHOES FOR SPAYS", 95 EAST HIGHWAY 98, CALEXICO CA 92232.

Help Save San Felipe Throw Away Dogs!

San Felipe's "Throw Away Dogs" are everywhere!
Since the closing of the ZAPP Center (7.5 acres) and
San Felipe Animal Rescue (10 acres),
San Felipe's streets are full of mangy, malnourished and pregnant
dogs once again. Animal lovers and advocates alike who live here
are doing all they can to feed and sterilize these animals,
and all our funds are privately raised.

Two weeks ago Mexicali Animal Control rounded up
88 innocent animals and needlessly destroyed them.
And they will continue to so, as they have in the past, as long as
we don't aggressively intervene. There is no longer a safe place
for these dogs to live without the fear of abduction and death.

Our new Spay/Neuter Center in town is
our only hope! Fertility is the heart of our problem, and
I am committed to fixing 2400 dogs and cats in 2011.
That's 200 surgeries every month!

Because money is so hard to come by, we rely on our
ZAPP eBAY Shoe Store as the best chance of raising enough
funds to meet the budgetary requirements necessary.

So, if you're a "Shoe Addict" or know someone who is,
and you can't afford to send money,
then please send shoes so we can turn them into
the $6000 a month we need to pay for the
200 spays and neuters necessary each month.
It's simple! Your donations of resell-able men's & women's
shoes can save so many dogs lives before they even begin.

This is an urgent request to the public at large.
We're talking about living, breathing sweet creatures that deserve a
better quality of life and a chance at a future here in San Felipe.
2011 is the year for us to get a handle on the population.

Please forward, post, and cross post this email everywhere you can.
Help us turn San Felipe into a model city in Baja that truly respects
the lives of our stray and indigent animal population,
and ends brutal roundups and euthanasia once and for all
through sensible animal population control.

Send Shoe Donations to:
ZAPP SHOES FOR SPAYS
95 EAST HIGHWAY 98
CALEXICO CA 92232

And if you cannot cover the shipping costs just let me know
and ZAPP will reimburse you thru check or PAYPAL.
That will still be far less expensive for us
then driving to the US from Mexico to purchase shoes.
