!! NOTICE !!

DUE TO THE PASSING OF ZAPP FOUNDER STEVEN FORMAN, ZAPP IS NO LONGER ACTIVE.

Please continue to support the animals. In San Felipe, "Volunteers for Indigent and Vulnerable Animals" or VIVA has been formed to fill the void left by Steven's passing. It's a collaboration of volunteers from the two former animal care groups, ZAPP and San Felipe Animal Rescue.

For more information on VIVA visit their website.

ZAPP is an acronym for the "Zero Additional "PUP-ulation Project". ZAPP was founded by Steven Forman in 2006. We are a no-kill organization operating in San Felipe, Baja, California. ZAPP is committed to spaying and neutering up to 200 animals a month, so we can finally achieve zero additional population growth and stop city wide roundups forever, which end in euthanasia of our innocent stray and indigent street population. Through our "SHOES FOR SPAYS" Project we take donations of gently worn to brand new men's or women's shoes and turn them into money for sterilization surgeries, using our shoe store on eBAY. The link for the store can be found on the right side of this page, by scrolling down.
The ZAPP Spay/Neuter Project deals with the most immediate problem at hand, which like all cities and towns in Mexico, is fertility. Please send your resell-able shoes to: "SHOES FOR SPAYS", 95 EAST HIGHWAY 98, CALEXICO CA 92232.

Steven “Dogman” Forman passed away yesterday

7/14/2011, San Felipe, BC - With a deeply saddened heart, I write this letter to let you know that Sgt. Garcia of the Imperial County Coroner’s office called and inform Rachel and I, that our dear friend Steven “Dogman” Forman passed away yesterday at the age of 65, in El Centro while at the post office.

At this time, we are notifying people close to Steven and getting his dogs care and shelter.

We will be posting updates on the passing of Steven and of his organization ZAPP on his blog, http://www.sfzapp.com as they become available. Steven was very special to us, many of you, and to the Dogs of San Felipe. He will be DEEPLY MISSED!
There will be a celebration of Steven’s life on Wednesday, Oct 5 at the Pavilion at El Dorado Ranch.

I am shocked and so very sad by this news. The world has lost a great man. The dogs of San Felipe have lost a dedicated, passionate defender. My heart hurts.

My thoughts and prayers are with Steven's friends and family at this time. But moreover, what will become of the stray dogs and cats on the streets of San Felipe? What will happen to them without their defender and champion? I am also praying that someone is willing to take up his mantle as the man who always cared for those that no one cared about.

I am devastated by this news...It breaks my heart. Who will take care of his dogs, and the dogs on the streets? I pray that someone is willing to take-over his work in his memory. He's an angel watching over the animals now from Heaven. God Bless Steven!
